Problem with some characters 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I was not able to reply to the post below, so started my own thread...
http://www.ghanja.be/en/forum/add-user-frontend/using-add-user-frontend-with-accented-characters.html

I have the same problem with my installation. Using a rocket theme template, j! 2.5 and swedish translation. Can not use è å ä ö.

still no news about why this happens?

Well you probably have the wrong database collation in yoor Sql DB.
(That was also the case in that other post you mentioned) Your DB collation should be: utf8_general_ci

If you dont get what i am talking about just give me acces to you db and joomla and i will have a look for you. I can probably fix it for you. (mail me the data via the contactpage)

Anyway in a standard joomla install accented charackters should work just fine!

I have the same issue (also with Swedish characters) and I am sure that my database collation is set to utf-8_general_ci (I've checked).

Can you please advise what I can do to pinpoint the problem?

Hey People,
I have found the problem too. Its a joomla 2.5 problem only i think. Because before it worked just fine. I will be searching for a fix. And update the component when i found the problem so it wont happen again.
I will let you know when i have found the solution
