Configuring Add user frontend

After installing the component like i explained in "Install Add user frontend" you must configure the  component for your website. When you are logged in to the backend of your website. You do the following.

1. Go to Components -> Add user frontend

2. Click on the parameters/options button on the top right

3. Choose your settings.

4. Click on Save.

You can also configure the component at the menu-item in the menumanager. This will give you the possibility to run multiple instances of the component with different settings. This can come in handy if you want to add users to multiple usergroups. (It can be used to do other stuff too)

You can make multiple links to the component. For example you can create a link called "Add registered member" and another link called  "Add author". Now  you just have to configure that users that are added by link1 are registered members and users added by link2 are authors.

How can i define these settings?
When making the link in the menu manager you will see a box to the right called "Parameters (Component)" this is in Joomla 1.5. In Joomla 1.6, 1.7 and 2.5 you will see a similar box but its called "Add user Frontend".

In this box you will see the component settings for that menu-item only. These settings override the global component settings. This gives you a lot more possibility's using the component.
